![]() I knew a boomer Lynch fan who thought that was one of the greatest lines in Hollywood history smh. That’s not limited to (but symbolized by) the f*ggot line which was never cool and aged like milk. David Lynchs fifth film, 'Wild at Heart', won the top award at the 1990 Cannes Film Festival and boasts a huge cast headed by Nicholas Cage, Laura Dern, Dia. Whatever archetype he was going for… he seemed more pretentious and insufferable (exactly how I found Michael Cera’s acting in The Return). Primarily I think Cage’s portrayal just really didn’t work for me. Dirigida por David Lynch, y protagonizada por Nicolas Cage y Laura Dern, incluy muchas referencias a 'The Wizard Of Oz' y a Elvis Presley, que le dieron un toque bastante original. But somehow I set that aside when ranking the film. Basada en la novela homnima de Barry Gifford, 'Wild At Heart' fue lanzada un ao despus de la edicin del libro, en agosto de 1990. While I deride it, I simultaneously say it has a contender for Lynch’s best scene ever (willem Defoe “fuck me”). Upon Sailor's release, Lula picks him up at the prison where she hands him his snakeskin jacket. Does anyone really think it should be his highest-decorated film?! Not that establishment award ceremonies ever matter…ĭon’t kill me but at the time my reaction was “Baz Luhrman does David Lynch” and not in a good way □ Plot Lovers Lula (Dern) and Sailor (Cage) are separated after he is jailed for killing in self-defense a man who attacked him with a knife the assailant was hired by Lula's mother, Marietta Fortune (Ladd). ![]() I’m quite annoyed that’s the film that won Palme d’or for him. ![]() It’s been years and I owe it a re-watch, but I remember being disappointed. ![]()
